How it works

From the moment they pay to the paycheck.

Seven steps, and your team only does the first one: helping the customer.

  1. The customer reaches the form

At the register before they pay, at online checkout, from their receipt email or text, or by tapping a wristband or plaque.

  2. They see the right people

Each touchpoint opens for a person, a team, or everyone on shift. You choose whether the tip can be split.

  3. They rate, compliment and tip

Rating takes a tap. Compliments are things your team chose to be known for. Splitting is optional.

  4. Tipd checks the schedule

Only people clocked in for that visit are paid. Owners and managers follow the rules you set.

  5. Tips and points land

Tips go to each person's payroll record. Points go to their balance and the leaderboard.

  6. Low ratings reach a manager

A 1 or 2 star rating texts the manager on shift and starts a follow-up with the customer.

  7. Payday

Send the period's tips to payroll in one click. Every dollar traces back to an order.

The customer side

One person, or the whole crew.

A wristband can send 100% to the person wearing it. A counter plaque can open for the team on shift. Customers can split it their way when you let them.

  • Avatars show who's being thanked
  • Sliders keep the total the same as they split
  • Percent presets with a cart, dollar presets without

Behind the scenes

Every tip finds its order.

Tips added before or during checkout are on the same order. Receipt links carry the order with them. Walk-up taps are matched to the visit by time and staff, and the customer confirms it.

  • Tips with no order are still recorded and paid
  • Reports by person, by order and by pay run

Walk through it with your own team.

We'll set up a demo with your staff, your schedule and your tip rules.
