Tipd started on a busy class night, with a tip jar nobody could split fairly and a crew that deserved better.
Our story
Every class runs on a crew.
Tipd began at Smashed Studio, our pottery studio in Houston and Eau Claire. On any given night there's an instructor at the wheel, an assistant wedging clay, someone at the front desk and someone loading the kiln after close. Guests wanted to thank all of them. The tips landed in one jar, and splitting it fairly took hours every pay period. So we built the tool we needed.

What we believe
Great service is a team sport.
Fair by default. Tips should reach the people who earned them, without anyone doing math at midnight.
